| Focus on Lead Contamination |
On Tuesday 2/9/10, Boy Scout Troop 21 will
be hosting a guest speaker on the topic of
Lead Poisoning from home remodeling
projects, from the Wisconsin Department of
Health Services Public Health Nurse. Many
home remodeling projects in older homes
create dust that may contain high
concentrations of lead. This lead dust can
be easily absorbed in humans, and
particularly children. The presentation will
address how lead dust may be created in
your home and the effects on children from a
lead contaminated home. Many Boy Scout
service projects may involve lead exposure
risks through paint scraping and painting
projects. The risks of lead are inherent in
many of these service activities and home
remodeling projects. Come find out more
about this risk to your families health. Please
feel free to invite any guests that might be
interested. The presentation will take about
an hour and will be held in the Fellowship Hall
of the Wauwatosa Ave. United Methodist
Church.
